President’s Message

Dear Colleagues and Members of the SDUI,

This year, 2025, marks the 15th anniversary of the SDUI. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all SDUI members for their unwavering support. What an incredible journey that has shaped our union!

This milestone allows us to reflect on our past and chart a course for greater engagement and service to our expanding community in Ireland and our homeland, Sudan. Throughout the years, SDUI has established strong relationships with leading academic institutions in Ireland, such as the Irish Medical Council (IMC) and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), to foster academic and scientific progress for Sudanese doctors. We are also proud of our partnerships and collaborations with fellow doctors’ unions and organizations around the globe, including those in the UK, USA, Canada ,Gulf countries, Australia and the Preliminary Committee of the Sudan Doctor’s Trade Union .

My thoughts are with our colleagues in Sudan who are risking their lives to provide healthcare in challenging circumstances and serving areas affected by armed conflict.

With optimism, I look forward to the path ahead as we continue our journey of service and excellence. As a union, we are committed to supporting our Sudanese doctors and their families. We must continue to advocate for our medical professionals’ well- being and career advancement.

There has never been a better time to engage in SDUI activities. Our collective strength and determination will help us overcome any challenges and obstacles. If you have suggestions on how we can enhance our mission, please share them with us. Together, we can achieve even greater heights.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication.
Warm regards,

Dr Rania Atta
President
